A cornerstone of the department is its long-standing and extensive experience in representing all constituent parties in bankruptcy and reorganization proceedings, both in court and out-of court, including secured creditors, unsecured creditors, creditor’s committees, trustees and debtors. The bankruptcy practice has been involved in a wide range of industries, with particular experience in the automotive, manufacturing, real estate, trucking, communication and construction industries.
Because of the availability of other practice disciplines within the Firm, the bankruptcy practice group is equipped to handle all aspects of a bankruptcy matter without the need for “special counsel.” The Firm’s attorneys’ day-to-day activities involve collaboration with commercial litigation, corporate, employment, real estate, tax and other practice areas. This permits the bankruptcy practice group to readily adapt to the specific needs of our clients in any given case and, as a result, advocate a client’s interest from the inception of a case through its final resolution, including commencing and defending adversary proceedings.
The Firm's Commercial Litigation Practice Group represents companies and individuals in litigation involving contracts, shareholder disputes, commercial tort claims, and bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings. When appropriate, our attorneys regularly resolve commercial disputes out of court through negotiation, arbitration, mediation and other alternative dispute resolutions forums.
